About Kids BreakFree Charity
In 1998, a group of concerned local business people formed the BreakFree Foundation. Their goal was and continues to be, to provide alcohol and other drug education and support programs to our kids and the community. The programs equip our kids and the community with knowledge, skills and strategies needed to identify and understand the devastating effects alcohol and other drugs have, and how to take steps towards behavioural changes in our community.
Kids BreakFree Charity aims to assist in the development of social responsibility within the community, by working actively with schools, businesses and community organisations.
Programs include:
“Real Deal” workshops - providing skills and strategies for students, teachers and parents, to minimise harms associated with drug and alcohol misuse and abuse;
“Camp BreakFree” - a weeklong outdoors program, accompanied by a series of follow-up sessions, to assist young people move towards a better future by becoming responsible for their lives and adopting new life long values;
Funds are primarily raised through corporate sponsorship, events and donations. Kids BreakFree Charity board consists of prominent local business people, including Rob Fuller as Chairman and Andrew Ettingshausen , Susie Maroney, Deborah Knight, Craig Stevens and Toni Pearen as Patrons. Kids BreakFree Charity is a registered Charity with gift recipient approval authority and income tax exemption authority (Charity Fundraising Number: 17300).
